Al Horford emerged as the leader of the Boston Celtics' attack, who beat 89-96 home winners at the Milwaukee Bucks.
Horford scored 27 points and nine rebounds that left him a leader in both sides of the game after competing 34 minutes in which 11 of 14 field shots, including 4 of 5 three-pointers, hit 1-1 from the lineup. The Dominican international pivot, who captured eight defensive rebounds, also gave four assists, put a cap and lost four balls. While Kyrie Irving confirmed his role as director of the Celtics game by scoring 24 points, including two three-pointers, he made seven assists, recovered two balls, lost two and put a stopper. Jayson Tatum and New Zealand center Aron Baynes contributed 12 points each to complete the list of four Celtics players who had double digits. The victory allowed the Celtics (3-2) to take revenge on the loss they suffered earlier in the month on the part of the Bucks, who also stayed with the same mark.
The match was held at the Panther Arena at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee campus, formerly known as MECCA and was home to the Bucks from 1968 until the team moved to the Bradley Center in 1988. The Bucks chose to play a game this season in the arena with capacity for 11,000 spectators as part of the 50th anniversary of the franchise. The team will move to a new arena starting next season.
Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was once again the Bucks' great figure with a double-double of 28 points, 10 rebounds - all defensive -, gave seven assists, recovered three balls, lost another three and put a stopper. Antetokounmpo, who came to the game as the NBA's leading scorer with nearly 37 points per game, got just 11 in the first half, before equaling that total in the third quarter when the Bucks clinched a seven-point lead midway through the quarter . Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon each contributed 15 points.
