Earl Watson becomes first NBA coach fired this season

The Suns of Phoenix announced the dismissal of their trainer Earl Watson when the first week of competition of the new season of the NBA has not yet been fulfilled.Watson will be replaced by assistant coach, Canadian Jay Triano, who will do so on an interim basis for the remainder of the campaign.
Triano, 59, who was Watson's trusted man, already had the experience of running in the NBA when he led the Toronto Raptors from 2008 to 2011, years in which he lost a losing record (87 -142), and also directed the national team of Canada. The Suns, who are 0-3 at the start of the new season, are facing the Sacramento Kings on Monday.

Suns officials also fired Nate Bjorkgren, Mehmet Okur and Jason Fraser, who worked as assistants with Watson. While Tyrone Corbin, who already directed the Utah Jazz and Kings, will become the trusted man of Triano. Watson, 38, came to the job as an interim coach by replacing Jeff Hornacek in 2016 and continued at the start of the 2016-17 season.
The Suns lost 130-88 to the Los Angeles Clippers last Saturday, and in the opening game of the new season they also succumbed 124-76 to the Portland Trail Blazers, the worst scorer in the team's history.
