LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers player Lonzo, was arrested for robbery along with two of his colleagues at the University of UCLA. The alleged theft occurred while the team was in Hangzhou, China, prior to the game against Georgia Tech.
Ball was stopped next to his companions Cody Riley and Jalen Hill. ESPN reported that the players were arrested after about 20 police officers arrived at their hotel in Hangzhou, outside Shanghai. Police questioned players at UCLA and Georgia Tech before leaving with the trio of UCLA players in a police vehicle, according to the report.
UCLA made a statement that said they were aware of an incident. "We are aware of a situation involving student athletes from UCLA in Hangzhou, China. The University is fully cooperating with the local authorities in this matter, and we have no further comments at this time."
