A frozen silence, players going away, others on the verge of tears ... These are the main reactions to the very serious wound of Gordon Hayward.
Launched to the alley-oop in the first minutes of his first regular season game with the Celtics, the winger was unbalanced in the air and his leg bent to the landing. The live images were atrocious, the foot of the former Jazz player being completely turned over after the shock.
With the leg immobilized, Gordon Hayward was taken to the locker room where the doctors diagnosed him with a dislocated ankle and fracture of the tibia. An injury, reminiscent of that of Paul George with Team USA, and which should deprive him of a large part of the season, if not of the whole season.
