Karl Anthony Towns led the attack with a double-double of 31 points, 12 rebounds and the Minnesota Timberwolves overcame the Dallas Mavericks 112-99.
The Timberwolves (6-3), against an assist that occupied 87 percent of their field of the "Target Center" with 16,837 people, improved their mark to 3-1 as a local team. The Minnesota team got their first streak of four straight wins in almost five years. The last time they won four consecutive games was from December 7 to 15, 2012.Towns played 32 minutes, scored 11 of 18 field goals, including 2 of 5 triples, 7 of 8 from the personnel line, and delivered two assists. The Dominican responded when the Timberwolves needed him and scored seven points and had two rebounds during a 13-0 run at the end of the third quarter. Andrew Wiggins contributed 23 points and Taj Gibson collaborated with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mavericks have the worst record in the NBA and their first start from 1-10 since the 1993-94 season, when they added a 1-23 record and finished with a 13-69. Dallas had Dennis Smith as the best scorer with 18 points, Harrison Barnes added 17 and reserve Devin Harris added 15. Puerto Rican baseman José Juan Barea contributed 14 points in 19 minutes of play, made 5 of 9 field goals, 4 of 5 triples, got four rebounds and delivered six assists.
