San Antonio Spurs 97-91 Dallas Mavericks




LaMarcus Aldridge scored 32 points and the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks 91-97 in a Texas team duel.The Spurs (9-5) put their numbers equal in games held outside their field, with 3-3.
The Spurs' victory helped coach Gregg Popovich to become the NBA's fastest coach to reach 500 wins out of his field. Popovich reached the mark in 835 games, 41 less than Pat Riley.Aldridge, who plays for the Spurs but was born in Dallas, was 36 minutes on the field in which he scored 12 of 21 field goals and 8 of 10 from the personnel line. Base Patty Mills added 19 points, his best record so far this season and reserve Argentine guard ManĂº GinĂ³bili added 13 points. Ginobili played 16 minutes, scored 4 of 7 field goals, including 1 of 2 triples, 4 of 4 from the personnel line, and achieved a rebound. The Spanish power forward Pau Gasol got two points in 23 minutes of action, scoring 1 of 5 shots, had 10 rebounds and delivered four assists.

The Mavericks are 2-13 for the second consecutive season and fifth in total. The Dallas team was led by Dennis Smith, who scored 27 points, Harrison Barnes and Puerto Rican backup Jose Juan Barea scored 16 points apiece. Barea played 27 minutes, scored 6 of 11 field goals, including 3 of 6 triples, 1 of 1 from the personnel line, recovered six rebounds and gave four assists.
